Ice PacksCold wash compress and ice packs are my “go to” remedies for soothing vaginal itch and burning. Place them on the intimate area for about 20 minutes for instant relief.

Yogurt - Plain yogurt with live cultures and buttermilk promote growth of good bacteria not only in your gut but in your vagina too. Be sure to choose yogurt that states  "with live cultures" and avoid the ones high in sugar. 

Plain yogurt is also a good external vaginal itching remedies as well.

To provide instant relief for vaginal itchiness apply it directly to the vaginal area and rinse off with cool water after 15 minutes.

Or you can insert a tampon smeared with yogurt into the vagina to soothe the irritation. Wait for about 15 minutes before removing the tampon and rinse the vulva with cool water.


Vagina Itching Remedies From The Kitchen

GarlicGarlic is a powerful anti-fungal herb. Eating garlic continuously for 3 to 4 days will lessen vagina itch. If you hate eating raw garlic, try roasting it. It taste delicious when roasted.

How to Roast Garlic:-

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Peel away the outer layers of the garlic bulb skin, leaving the skins of the individual cloves intact. With a sharp knife, cut off 1/4 to 1/2 inch off the top, exposing the individual cloves of garlic.
  3. Place the garlic heads on a baking dish. Drizzle a teaspoon of olive oil over each head, season with  salt and pepper. Rub in the mixture with your fingers to ensure each head is well coated.
  4. Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 35-40 minutes or until the cloves feel soft when pressed.
  5. Allow to cool and use your fingers to squeeze the roasted garlic out of their skin. Eat it as it is or mash it to add to topping for baked potatoes or mix with Parmesan and pasta.

Apple Cider VinegarCreate a douche by adding 2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar to 2 cups of water to provide relief for the itching and stinging sensation.



Saline Sitz Bath - Dissolve 1/2 a cup of table salt in a shallow tub of water. While sitting in the tub, insert your finger into your vagina to let the salt water in. Remove your finger and relax for 10-15 minutes. Having this sitz bath continuously for 2 to 3 nights should ease the vaginal itching and irritation. 

Licorice Powder - Licorice powder is one of the effective vaginal itching remedies you can get from Chinese medical shops.

Create a douche by adding 1 teaspoon licorice powder to 1 pint (475ml) water. Steep the mixture for 20 minutes. Cool and use as a douche.

These tried and tested herbal and home vaginal itching remedies show results after consistent usage for 5 days.

However, if vagina itching does not subside after 5 days, please see a doctor to rule out that it is not STD related.
